April 15th marks the beginning of a significant event that will last 2 years.

We will see a rare sequence of 4 total lunar eclipses over the next 2 years. This event, called a tetrad, occurs when there are 4 successive total lunar eclipses with no partial lunar eclipses in between, each of which is separated from the other by 6 full moons. There will be 8 tetrads during the next 100 years (2001-2100).

The dates of the coming tetrad are below.

• 2014 – April 15th, October 8th
• 2015 – April 8th, September 28th

A lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, Earth and moon align so that the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon, darkening it. As a result the moon looks red. The bloody red color of the moon is caused by refraction of sunlight by the Earth’s atmosphere.

Why is this significant?

A tetrad, although rare, is not significant in and of itself. However a blood moon as we are about to see is prophesied in the Bible in relation to the last days. The proximity of this event with upcoming anniversaries for Israel has drawn increased attention. Also, in the past blood moons have accompanied significant events for Israel.

• The 1949-1950 tetrad occurred around the formation of Israel after WWII (1948).
• The 1967-1968 tetrad occurred around the 6 Day War (1967).

In the tetrad we are about to go through a full lunar eclipse will occur on the first day of Passover and the first day of Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles).

As I mentioned, a blood moon is prophesied in end time prophecy. In particular it is mentioned in Joel 2:30-31 and Revelation 6:12.

?I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.? Joel 2:30-31

?I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.? Revelation 6:12

What does this mean?

As with any phenomenon that may coincide with Biblical prophecy there is divided thinking and speculation.

In his book Four Blood Moons, Pastor John Hagee suggests this indicates a significant event for Israel. Based on the history of the 1949-1950 and 1967-1968 tetrads his assumption may not be far off.

This event does not mean the return of Christ, as many events are yet to occur, however it may point to events which will set that into motion.

The most notable event which we will see is the War of Gog and Magog which precedes the Tribulation. As I detailed in my last blog signs are emerging of this alliance of countries becoming more aggressive. What is particularly interesting is the timing of the tetrad around these significant anniversaries:

• The 70th Year of Jubilee which culminates during Rosh Hashanah (September) of 2015.
• The 70th anniversary of Israel?s statehood (2018).

Signs are pointing to a significant event in September of 2015 not only for Israel but for America, as I detail in The 9-11 Cycles. If the generational anniversary of Israel?s statehood in 2018 date is in line with Ezekiel 37-38 it could suggest the War of Gog and Magog is approaching, leading to a peace treaty between Israel and the Arab nations. This would precede the Tribulation. (It is important to acknowledge that the Tribulation actually begins with peace and will not appear to be a ?tribulation? at first.)

All in all, we are about to go through a rare sequence of events. Combining the tetrad with once in a lifetime anniversaries is something that will never be seen again in history.

All eyes are on the Middle East.

Given the weakness America displayed in relation to Crimea and the Ukraine, I believe Israel has seen our lack of action and is planning accordingly. As with the 6 Day War and Israel?s preemptive strike against Egypt, I would not be surprised to see a similar preemptive strike against Iran.
