Disclaimer: The next couple of posts will be deep water. I will get back to lighter topics next month but need to get a few things down on ‘paper’.
We may be heading into some rough waters.
Where were you on September 11, 2001? I was on a bus headed to my college campus when I overheard something about a plane crashing into a building on the radio. When I got to the Student Union every TV was tuned in to the news. They reported that two planes crashed into the World Trade Center around 9 a.m Eastern.
On Thursday September 11, 2008 the largest short selling day our nation has ever seen took place. What resulted was the fall of Lehman Brothers and the eventual stock market crash later that month and into October. It was the beginning of a storm. (A must read article about that day can be found here). If the Fed had not stepped in it would have resulted in a collapse of the stock market, the U.S. Dollar, and our Nation. The result would have been economic contagion spreading to all other world economies. Because of swift action the result was only the Great Recession. It happened around 11 a.m Eastern.
Exactly 7 years to the day our nation faced events that brought us to our knees.
After seeing this trend I couldn’t help but ask.
What happens on September 11, 2015?
Was this just a coincidence or could we be in a cycle of 7 year judgements (similar to Joseph in the nation of Egypt) with a third and perhaps final storm happening on September 11, 2015.
In 2001 instead of repenting we rebuilt.
In 2008 instead of repenting we re-printed.
In Jonathan Cahn’s book The Harbinger he explains through a fiction styled novel that America is in a cycle of 9 Harbingers and that September 11, 2001 was our own fulfillment of Isaiah 9:10.
“The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with smooth stones; The sycamores have been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.”
That may or may not be true, regardless I think it is a little more simple than that.
It is Deuteronomy 28, specifically verse 25.
“The Lord shall cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you will go out one way against them, but you will flee seven ways before them, and you will be an example of terror to all the kingdoms of the earth.“
Terror, pestilence, economic ruin and even being besieged by your enemies is the result of disobeying God’s commands. (Ref Deut 28)
Although America allows for religious freedom and has never truly been Christian this doesn’t mean we are not susceptible to judgement from disobeying God. It means that the remnant (The Church) will have to endure the judgement God brings against the pagan nation we are living in. Like Joseph’s family and the Israelites, He gives them the ‘Land of Goshen’ to live in and survive during this time. This doesn’t mean it won’t be difficult.
Since we live in a Democratic Republic and have the power to elect our own representatives I do believe God expects us to impact the grassroots with the Gospel in order to change the morality and laws voted for in our nation.
Our passiveness and laziness with the Gospel will prove to be harmful not just to the unbelieving nation we reside in but to ourselves as well.
An Important Note
September 11, 2015 is 3 years before 2018 which is the 70th anniversary of Israel being restored to their homeland after WWII (1948).
All in all, some milestone dates are ahead of us. Also, we are living in the blessing of the WWII generation because they were used to fulfill Ezekiel 37:21-22. That generation is dying off and so is their blessing. We as a nation are becoming more perverse and hate filled towards God, in return He is handing us over to our sins.
We may be heading dead on into a another storm.
I will let you do your own research and draw your own conclusions. I am not trying to predict anything but rather make you aware of something that I have discovered during my time of study.
I will say this.
It is too quiet, way too quiet. I believe a storm is coming and you need to prepare yourself spiritually. God is much bigger and more Holy than all of us think, especially Christians. When His strong arm comes against a nation you need to bow down low. This means humble yourself and pray. It also means obey.
This is not said in a spirit of fear nor meant to create fear. Although, if your hope is in your life and this world then it should cause you to stop and think. We are mortal and we are created. There is a humility that comes from a true understanding of our dependent position and fallen condition.
*I say all of this with a heavy heart and great respect for those that lost their life on September 11, 2001. My heart is to explain the implication of disobeying God and to warn others so that we don’t have to experience another event of this magnitude. I do believe we as a nation will only be great if we obey and follow the God that created us. The only true freedom, liberty and justice is found in obeying Jesus Christ.
