PRAY :: A New Season

My friend Brady was in town from Oregon and we decided to meet up for breakfast.

Brady ran the coffee shop across the street from our ministry in Dallas. At breakfast we caught up about our season of ministry together and remarked about how awesome God is. “I mean, look at how He answered prayers for Oak Lawn. Come on! What else could He do in Dallas?” Brady remarked.

I agreed.

After Brady left my friend Udi walked in. I told Udi over coffee… “Udi, God is telling me I have unfinished business in the city. I am not sure what that looks like but I am thinking about starting PRAY up again. Would you be interested?”

He said yes and told me about his friend Pollo who runs a ministry in Dallas called Love in Motion. Udi said we should all grab lunch. I agreed.

The following week we all met for lunch. I told Pollo that I sensed God telling me to start a prayer meeting. He said he would be interested and that we should check out their space as a possible meeting location.

I said, “That would be great, where do you all meet?”

He replied, “We meet in an upper room above the Weir’s outlet.”

I looked at Udi and smiled, “It is an upper room. God is giving us another upper room.”

What makes this story even sweeter is that the same people that are sponsoring Pollo…. sponsored Brady.

God has a way of putting His finger print on everything He touches.

What has happened in Oak Lawn is just the beginning.

This is bigger than all of us. This is bigger than a church, bigger than a leader or a pastor, this is about a movement of God that will not be stopped by man. This is about the name of Jesus, and only the name of Jesus, being lifted high.

Why do we pray?

A shift in the atmosphere, a change in the culture, is only accomplished by the hand of God. It is by coming to the Lord with open hands and repentant hearts that we experience His change. Not only in our own lives but in the lives of those around us.

This is why we pray.

For the Kingdom of God to be manifest in our neighborhoods, our city, our nation and the world.

Needless to say I am expectant for what God will do.

PRAY is a small group of believers that began praying on Thursday nights in an upper room for revival in the city, for a fresh movement of God. We begin again, pressing into God and asking Him to move in power. For the Kingdom to be manifest on earth, for His glory to be displayed to all nations.

If you would like to join us we meet the first Thursday of every month at 7 pm. Directions and information can be found at praydallas.com.

If you can not make it but would still like to participate you can watch online. We plan to offer live streaming of our sessions and recommend starting a prayer gathering in your home.

This is not about us, this is about Jesus. Our job is simply to set out the wood and let God send the fire. This is a call to pray, a call to arms. Let us prepare the way.

Prepare the way of the Lord.

But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” Luke 18:27
